Beyond the Office - Far More Than Lenders
Our Web Site may have revealed to you that we are a very different Organisation and our core goals revolve around setting our Clients free. This goes far beyond our professional involvement as Mortgage Originators & Mortgage Managers. This page provides a very brief overview of the micro-economic programs we’ve been able to establish over the last 10 years, in poorer communities overseas. This work is now well established in southern India, where we are involved in working with 30 village communities and hundreds of individual families. On a much smaller scale, similar work has commenced in Africa.

Now that the “economic self sufficiency” model is well established, essentially our role is to continue to provide financial & management resources to facilitate the economic independence of family units, which would otherwise be in severe poverty. This is achieved through a network of training, village education, business incubation [using a “cottage industry” model], business establishment and ongoing support - ensuring that there is permanent dramatic improvement in participating families circumstances.

From a practical program perspective, our work includes:
free community development & education at the local village level
free literacy training for village residents

free medical clinics within each village
free life skills & preventative illness training
free immediate relief support and assistance

free intensive training programs in tailoring, sewing, embroidery, business establishment & management and marketing
free business equipment, ensuring the longevity of our training & incubation model

Participants have no financial obligation to pay for their training. Once the “cottage” business is established, we simply provide support and encouragement to assist the development of the business in the long term. After almost a decade of significant involvement in developing and managing these programs, we are overjoyed with the substantial results which are now being achieved at the local village level. This work is now permanent and our plans are to expand it, as resources become available through the growth of the First Australian Financial Services business.

It’s all about empowering these people with the skills and tools that they need to get a start, to break that cycle of poverty and see change come to the poorer rural areas of India. Laurine from our Credit Department attended a graduation ceremony at our Training College last year.

“When I was there again in February I had the privilege of being there for our latest graduation ceremony. It was a day I will never forget. There were tears of joy as the ladies proudly displayed their new machines & returned to their villages with their new tools for life. Many of our women who graduated have now gone on to have successful businesses, provide for their families, build houses, educate their children & transform their community. Everything we do at First Australian is with India in mind. This is the heart behind why we do what we do.”
By being a part of the First Australian family you are partnering with us to make a significant difference to those less fortunate.
